soundstream bx 15 HELP!

need help setting my gains for the soundstream bx 15. when i turn up the dash remote it sound distorted. where sould i set the gains on the bx 15? plzz help thanks

what subs and box type?

when in doubt turn everything on the amp down and turn up the head unit to desired level and adjust amp accordingly
