soundstream amp trouble

I have a soundstream 600.2 bridged to 4 ohm running a single kicker comp vr 15''. The amp had been running just great for about a month until my dad borrowed my car from me for a day. When i got the car back i immediatly took out the amp and sub without listening to them and tried to hook it up in my friends car. The amp light would come on green and eveything but no sound. So we tried hooking up a different sub...no luck...we hooked it up in my carand the same thing happened..no sound. The wierd part is when i unhooked the amp the power light stays on green even though nothing it attached to it. Is IT blown or what?? Please help cause my last amp blew and i really need to know if this one is. thanks alot

Get ahold of a DMM, hook up the amp (with no sub or anything attached to the outputs), set the DMM to Volts AC, and play some music or test tones (test tone prefered here). The DMM should read some voltage output....if it doesn't, then test the amp's power input and REM wire (with the DMM set to Volts DC) and be sure they both read atleast 12V. If the inputs read atleast 12V, but you are not getting any voltage on the output side, then it is likely that the amp is damaged.

Also...kinda obvious, but; Be sure the amp's crossover is set to lowpass and not to highpass.

i have my crossover set to full and i always have....would that have anything to do with it? and whats a DMM? Also would water getting on my rca imputs have anything to do with it

Set the crossover to low pass. Why on gods earth would you want to her words from your Subwoofer.

DMM = Digital Mutimeter - ok not everyone knows this

Water??? are you serious. Water + elecricity don't mix.

Try some new RCA's. If that does not work the Input is fried.

I work at Best Buy car audio department and have never head of this "Soundstream". Must be a Circuit City brand. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
