Were working on a better 12volt battery bank now. So we'll see what happens. I'll post results when I'm done.

Well u will see alot more power from it yet. our testing last weekend yeilded 12000 + clean and over 15000 clipped but spl didnt go up any with the clipped. that was 5 D1000 power masters per amp with start voltage of 17.9. and the 7K2D onlydid 8850 on same test. rise was 2.7 ohms starting was 1 ohm. very very strong amps.....

still amazes me that something with that small of a footprint is that freaking strong and effcient!

So this 8,000 watt amp does 12,000 watts of clean power into a 2.7 ohm load? That sounds funny to me. How much does these cost on average.

Keep in mind that in the test they where using 18v not 12v.

How did you get a 7k2d to even play on 17.9v? I thought the highest you could go with them was 15.2v

Correct. 7k2d will protect at 15v but not the older 7kd. Can I ask who's 7k2d did you test?

And I'm not sure about this person's test because it doesn't correspond with other peoples testing of the 8000d on 18v but the original posters 12v test seems right on par. Other test of the 8000d to get similar power of 12k on 18v the amp needed to be run at .25-.5ohms rising to 1-1.5ohms. But that was other peoples test of the 8000d and I don't know your circumstances. But the test of a 7k2d from 1ohms to 2.7ohms on 18v seems about right. Modified 7k2d's for 18v do about 12-13k at impedance of .5ohms to 1.5ohms-2ohms. What was the spl difference?

The best rise for SD8000 is 1.5 ohms or more.

Team Rip Rock did 12970W in 1.7 ohms, as a example.

SD8000 will do more power because of higher voltage on power supply.
