ok they might have a nice footprint, what about sound quality? i mean wow its a small amp and all but what if it sounds like caca ? then what...

The 4ch D amps will have more SMD parts, and those parts won't have any failure.

...and I see my comment on SD not being around forever, I guess that rubbed you the wrong way. But take a look around, the classified section is full of equipmient from failed companies.

I was talking about the SMD parts.

Just as an example, we never had any problems on the preamp section.

Ok people, no fight, yes amplifier talk...

The SMD component we are talking about is the control of the PWM for the 4ch, and the high-power components, like output and power supply FETs are more subject to failure.

This 4ch amp in testing seems to be bullet proof, we are testing it with 1ohm each bridge, and it is protecting in time at all tests.

well thats good to hear that its not going to be that much.....when will you release the actual prices for them? and props for the 5 year warraty that scores big points in my book as does the small footprint, but price is always the deciding factor so im looking forward to seeing how much you want for them, keep up the good work

All aspects of an amplifier is subject to fail. To assume otherwise is quite silly when human interaction with equipment is concerned.

Shure... but you can be shure that any SMD component on a PCB is a part of a very reliable circuit. Nobody wants to repair SMD.

This is true. What usually blows are the outputs and regulators. Pretty simple fixes. I would assume the same problems occur with the Zenon based product or other brands for that matter.

parts short out in any class or quality of amp. One topology isn't necessarily immune over the others in reliability.
