Hello,
I have a problem with my 2001 Accord's front speakers where they will not work unless I am listening to a song with lots of bass hits AND turn up the volume pretty loud. I've isolated the problem to somewhere around my CD reciever, because I was unscrewing the the joiner plates for the CD reciever and the little storage box under it and the front speakers suddenly cut in. However once I pulled the entire assembly out they cut back out again.
I am at least the third owner of this vehicle. My sister owned it before me, and before her some guy with apparently poor workmanship owned it. (lol pics for proof)

1. First cable that connects my reciever. What kind of cable is this called?
2. I don't know what this is called either. But I suspect the problem is with this.
3. I dunno if this is the way it's supposed to be, but I suspect it's not the case.

Don't think it matters, but this is my amp:

PS: I know next to nothing about cars, but refuse to take this into a shop because I know I'll get charged $80 for what is probably just a simple wire fix. I believe a responsible owner should know about the power under his/her command. I am in full control of my computer and can go from parts to 100% customized system. I'm somewhat embarassed to say I can't say the same with my car. This car has been "mine" for about a year and all I can really do is switch tires and check oil. However, I think this is the perfect opportunity to get started on the path of understanding cars and all the subsystems involved.
