Hey Guys,

Well i have a gift card for $500 + - to best buy. and looking to invest in a good sound system for a space i have.

A good clean sounding system is all i want doesnt have to be super loud.

should i get a receiver sub n speakers or a box set?

ipod or usb port would be a plus but not necessary. I

went to best buy and spoke to some experts but i dont think they know what theyre talking about.

what do you think

dont get a box set unless you have to, i mean some sound good but most aernt upgradable ie. if your dvd player breaks you have to go out and buy a new dvd player and a receiver cause in the box sets it is one unit

You mean the experts didnt no what they was talking about?!?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif:crazy:

1100sqft is a large room, is your budget $500 or is that just what you want to spend at best buy to use the GC?

i'm not sure what BB sells these days, but i would spend the full $500 just on the receiver if the room is that large

a decent 100watt per channel high current model would work well with some efficient speakers and a large sub

for a all in one box, this is about all i would buy, those other dont let you do any upgrading hardly

wouldnt expect too much bass out of it, but i would think it would sound decent for the money

or use a speaker package and add a reciever

or use the above reciever and add speakers and continue until you have a nice system, but its usually nice to have the same brand speakers for front and center

the speakers are onyl like 80$ but sound pretty good

few different ideas, just depends on what kind of sound your looking for and if your willing to add a little money to it, if you want to add some money to it, buy your reciever and speakers form BB, then build a sub box and grab a plate amp, should stomp any of those cheap store subs

that, in no way answers what i was asking
is your budget just the $500 GC or will you be adding more money?

trying to fill 1100sqft on a $500 budget isnt going to turn out well
^^^ I agree 100% ^^^

I just spent more than $1000 to fill up a 300sq ft room...

o yea?? dint think it would cost so much.

but it will be mainly music dont need surround...

ill probably get a receiver and get separate speakers etc.

ill think bout my idmax its just sitting around anyways.
