sound problem that is a TRUE mystery

first....i had a pioneer premier deck with a sundown sax 125.2 powering the doors.....it was setup with all 4 speakers runing to it off 2 channel giving each speaker 100 watts.... now the problem.....the music plays at high volume but doesnt stay...after about 10-15 seconds the sound like fades into a under water sound...no distortion or crackle just the underwater sound...i turn the volume down..wait and turn it back up..sound fine then 10-15 seconds later does the same thing..it doesnt do it on all songs but most. now i troubleshooted and hooked up a different amp (4 channel audiobahn) just to test and see if it was the HU or not....this amp did the same thing. then i sell the HU and replace with another pioneer...not premier but still a decent little deck...and it still has the same problem on both amps....the rca's and speaker wire are only a month old and i still had the same problem when the stuff was freshly installed....ive ruled out its not the amp or the head unit....i changed the ground..sill nothing...the amp is getting 13.4 volts when volume is blasting and sub is off, which it still has the same problem when sub is on which lowers the volatge to about 12.4-12.6-7...im stumped guys please helpp

have you checked the voltage while its sounding like this? since you said it sounds like this, you turn down volume, then turn it back up and it sounds fine maybe voltage is dropping too low then recovering when you turn it down.

if so then a battery/charging issue. is your ground solid? ive found by my own experience and by reading up here ALOT of problems are fixed from making sure your ground is correct.

many amps have a roll-back feature that cuts the volume when the amp is really being stressed. Have you set the gains properly ? Maybe you are trying to get more volume outs of the system than it's capable of delivering.

im not trying to diss any of yalls answers but did you read the whole thing i typed? it answers all these solutions you gave that or i have already tried them,,, the volatge is the same, its not voltage problem ive tested it with volt meter and amp running at high volume and nothing, no voltage drop like a loose connection or anything....and the ground is fine, i changed it around and whatever. i really dont think its the ground because ive had the same one on all different kinds of amps and everything was fine.

the way the problem happens just doesnt seem like a speaker issue, cause it will start like on the first stage of dropping down all 4 speakers do it at the same time, then the right side of the car then the left then they all sound like there under water, it cant be the amp because ive tested it with another one

i believe i found the problem guys, i took a look at rainbows website and these speakers have this "Integrated crossover and tweeter power protection (PTC)" and seeing how im giving them every bit off what there suppose to have the protection is kicking in? seems right , what can i do to bypass this protection BS
