Sound other than bass on subs?

I'm not really good with wiring and everything yet, but i am getting sound other than bass out of my subs which sounds to be like the actual music playing and sounds horrible. How do i fix this?

Lower the LPF

What are you using as a source. If its from a loc use a lower lpf around 60hz. If you are running rca's what set is it hooked to front , rear or sub. If you dont have a dedicated sub set and just a front and rear check to see ifvthe rear is switchable to sub. If its just front you will need to set the lpf on amp
