Sound deadner in a boat??

So I was thinking about buying some damplifier pro to surround our engine bay with to quite it down a little.

But i was kinda wondering, is there a better way to stop sound? The parts i would need to apply the deadner too are either fiberglass (painted) or a mesh type fabric on the back of wood. Anyone know of a good way to lessen the engine noise? Its not that bad, so im thinking with a little deadner it will be much more relaxing.

Its a 5.7 v8 so at WOT i dont expect much less sound, but cruising id like a little less.

Yep, it's very popular to do in boats and down right necessary to do in some.
