Uhm....lead based? Wouldn't that be kinda toxic? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

You are talking a damper and a barrier. Used together is extremely effective.

On your budget I would would use Raamat as the damper and then either the Cascade VB3.5 (this is the lead sandwich stuff you speak of) or VBP(Vertex Barrier Pad) this is a MLV composite product which is similiar to VB4.5 only better IMO you can get it through FoxPro5 he owns Vertex and is also a Cascade Dealer.

PM FoxPro5 and let him know what you want to do I am sure he can help get you all set-up with everything and what would be most effective for your application.

Products with lead septums work very well. They form well and doa good job of blocking specific air borne noise frequencies.

Vinyl is the next best material. 1 lb per square foot is ideal.

Applying a barrier product on top of a vibration damper is an awesome way of treating the unwanted noise.

Products like Ensolite and Overkill are both abosrbers which filter out airborne sound waves. They do a good job, but barriers are usuallythe better option when it comes to performance.

If you can use both an absorber and a barrier on top of a vibration damper you will be doing awesome!.

Hope that helps

I bought 36 square feet of Damplifier Pro for about $160. Being this is a small car I think I can cover most of the car with it... thoughts?

Car = 07 Hyundai accent.

You will need more than 36sqft if you plan on doing both doors properly, floor pan, roof and trunk. Just depends on what all you plan to deaden. Some people can use almost 36sqft per door. So how crazy you plan on getting. If you do not full coverage and place the mat Strategically then you should have enough to complete the doors and the trunk area.

This is what going in my Prelude. Which is on the way excessive side. So how crazy you want to get and how much money you want to spend.

186 sqft of Raamat

21 sqft Vmax

1 Gallon VB-1

1/2 Gallon Spectrum

9 Yards ensolite

20 sqft VBP

13.5 sqft VB3.5

SS Heatwave 45 sqft

Neoprene 30 sqft

Ultra Stage Mat 4 sqft

Backstop 1.0 8 sqft

VB-5 6 sqft

I would agree $600 should be plenty. You should be able to do it for about $400-$450 tops.

That Damplifier Pro is awesome stuff and probably the best on the market.
