i was on the secondskin website... they advertise three different types of sound damping. while they explain their differences, they don't go into much detail on the applications of each ("step 1" aka vibration dampers, "step 2" aka noise barriers, and "step 3" aka rattles and squeak stopper)
Now, for something like my roof or trunk making noise vibrating/flexing at high SPLs, I would coat it with "step 1" vibration damper?
And, to line inside guts of my doors or any place with loose parts i would use "step 3" rattle and squeak stopper?
Lastly, to block outside and engine noise, I would use "step 2" noise barrier for like my firewall, under carpet, and maybe outside skin of doors?
I realize that in some places it would make sense to use both, but did i get the gist of it?
