ok took my door off the other day to install my speaker, and when i get some cash i wanna deaden my doors. i was planning on going with peel n seal becuase its the cheapest and a lot of people use it without problems. but first i have some questions, there is this soft colored stuff on the inside of the door, do i tear that out and replace it with the peel n seal? and second how much do you think i will need for 2 front doors? below is a pic

clean doors down to straight metal, all padding etc.. off and cleaned. wouldn't recommend using cheap stuff, i've used edead v1(same as peel and seel) and was greatly disappointed. the DAMP was much much easier and permament

There are mixed reviews regarding peal and seal. I personaly would never use it. It was not designed to be used in a automobile so I would choose to not use it. Not saying it wouldn't work. But I would rather put my money in to a proven trust worthy product.

Sorry to thread jack, but i was wondering if Peel N Seal are actually good sound deadeners? i am also, planning to deaden my whole car.

It works better than nothing at all.

But it is not nearly as effective or as good as buytl based, thicker sound dampening such as SS Damplifier and Damp Pro, and Raammat BXT.

i was reading another thread about deadener and it said something about applying it with a heat gun, how do i do this and is it necessary?
I dont use a heatgun. I let it sit in the sun for about 10 minutes then apply it. works fine for me.

and dante use damplifier. its worth the extra money, plus you get a 20% discount.

If using a butyl based product in decent temperatures, no heat gun will likely be required.

If you're using asphalt based deadener, or are deadening in rather cold temperatures then you may need to use a heat gun/hair dryer to heat up the deadener before you apply it.
