Sound Deadening

I've done quite a bit of research up till now and I've found that it seems Butyl based deadeners are the ones of choice and now im wondering how how much ill exactly need. I have a 05 silverado ext cab and the roof is quite noisy from all the flexing and rattling I feel sorry for it almost. But I think im gonna go with Second Skin deadening . Now the owner recomended I use 2 layers of damplifier pro which is 90mils thick but a friend said thats to much which the regular damplifier is 65 mils just like dynamat extreme . I just wanted to pool opions on how much to use system is in the sig also my box is downfiring but I may try up firing soon .

in your case more will not hurt, if anything you get a quiter ride.

True but I'm trying to get my deadening done cheaply who knows I may not be keeping this truck I have but the deadening is needed for now.

Raammat, best bang for the buck IMO. 62.5 sq ft of 60 mils for $130.

However, From my experience, Second SKin is not the cheapest product around, and since the thread started wants to save some coin, Rammat might be a better choice..

If he is dead set on goinig with Second Skin he will get some atvantages but will have to spend more jack.. UNLESS!!! he goes with a liquid damper like Spectrum or Sludge..

For butyl mats though. rammat BXT is hard to beat for the price....
