Sound deadening suggestions

Damplifier, RAAMmat BXT, eDead. Those are all butyl-based. If you really want to go cheap you can get FatMat, or asphalt deadener at your local harware store. Wouldn't suggest it though.

And you should estimate high. eDead is the only one you can buy by the ft^2. Damplifier you can get in 10, 20, 40, or 80 ft^2. Check them all out. There's also Dynamat, but for the price, there is much better stuff out there.

Also, you can do some reading here http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/

good luck

I am going to try the paint on e-dead when i deaden. I've tried a few others in the past, dynamat, brown bread, and b-quiet extreem(same company as brown bread) i found the brown bread the best of those. I want to try the paint on stuff, because it is color matched to my car, and i think it will be easier to get in every nook and krany, plus it will be something new to try and experiment with.

i think it may end up being more expensive then a regular dampener, but hey its worth a try.

you'll prob need about 25 sq ft. for a sincle layer but you'll prob wanna double up some places especially inside the doors behind around speaker and spots that have lots of rattles etc etc etc. i have 40 sq ft of raamat bxt i would sell you for 85 shipped. (its about 140 shipped from raamaudio.com for 62.5 sq feet)

on my two door truck, 40 square feet covers 2+ layers in and out on my doors. i got 40 square feet of BXT from rick for around $75 shipped or so. his customer service is top notch.

I used a combination of second skin damplifier pro and overkill pro. If you really want to go the extra mile, you can lay down a primary layer of liquid deadener. Typical doors have a inner/outer door and plastic panel. i decided to deaden all 3. I used a door kit (12sq/ft) for the inner door and the extra dynamat extreme on the outer door and plastic panel. Then i used the foam on the inner door using spray glue to attach it.

i guess i can do 70 shipped then huh? lol

For a car of your size you can use between 8 and 20 sq feet to proplerly sound deaden your doors.

It all comes down to your goals and your budget.

Figure that the usable area of your doors is about 2' x 3'

that is 6 sq feet. You might only be ablt to access about 5 sq feet on the inside cavity.

so 2 layer in side the door and one layer onthe skin that the upholstery atached to is a total of 15 sq feet. Do an extra foot around the speaker and one behind the speaker and now you are at 17.

It adds up pretty fast.

Water based noise dampers are a great way to treat doors as well. Plan an using about 1.5 gallons to properly dampen 2 doors fully.

hope that helps
