Sound Deadening suggestion

Ok, currently I have Dynamat Extreme in my doors and trunk. And Second Skin Sludge on top of that and a thin layer of sludge on the drivers side floor. I plan on purchasing Second skin Damplifier and doing the upper part of my doors (really hard to get to) I also plan on getting Second Skin LLP for the floor. My question is what's a better buy 120 FT² eDead 45 Sound Deadener w/ Free Roller $130 Shipped or 100 FT² eDead 80 Sound Deadener w/ Free Roller $245

Both are shipped prices, going to use them for the floor and firewall. Is it possible to get the 45 and still get good results since I'm using LLP on top? Want to get rid of as much road noise as possible, not noisy, but not quiet either.

Skip the ED products all together. The floor of a car typically benefits little from damping when compared to large, flat panels or parts of your car in the immediate vicinity of a speaker. Not to mention that those products aren't worth their weight in peanuts as dampers. Even with something like Damp Pro on the floor, you can expect maybe a 3dB noise reduction at like 500 hz.

Take your $130 and buy more LLP to ensure continuous coverage from as high up on the firewall as possible to the back of the car as possible. That means, seams that have been taped together and as few seams as possible.

oh okay thanks wasn't sure how much I would benefit from doing the floor. Was only going to get the ED b/c SS damp would cost way too much to do the floor.

Pretty much safe to say there's OEM damping treatments already on the floor. Even if you add damping materials, you'll gain so very little by way of noise ingress into the cabin when compared to a proper barrier like LLP. Again, 3 dB noise reduction at 500hz (off the top of my head) with a high quality mat like DP compared to 18 dB reduction with something like LLP. That's 6x more effective at what you just said you wanted to do ("get rid of as much noise as possible") by using the correct tool for the job.

i actually don't remember any oem damping on the floor. It has really thick carpet though, which i think maybe help in road noise. You hit it dead on, so I guess LLP is the way to then. Okay last question, considering what I already have in my doors and not getting the damp material for the floor should i go with SS damp or pro for the top half of the doors. Quick recap...Dynamat Extreme on inner door, some places are doubled up to half the height of the door and sludge on top of that with sludge (not mat) on the outer door metal.
