Sound deadening questions?

I have searched, and cannot find all my questions answered.

im sure they have been asked 1000000 times, please dont flame.

Im looking into getting Raam mat. I hear its good and the price is attractive.

Question is, how good is it stacked up against the other big names in deadener?

How much will i need? one roll is ~60 sq. ft. i think imma get 2 rolls to do my whole car. trunk, trunk lid, both front doors, roof, rear deck, and behind back seats.

other thing is, i have a thick layer of OEM deadener behind the seats already, should i get rid of it, or keep it since its really not hurting anything? (im going to deaden that area with the raammat.)

i don't think that site is really useful much anymore. being that the site was done 4 years ago most of those companies have altered their sound deadening and or have come up with new products.

One roll was not enough for my whole car. I drive a galant, so it's similar to the size of your intrepid. It covered my front doors (inside & outside) and most of my trunk (including the lid). Depending on how anal you get with the stuff, two rolls should do it.

i wasnt expecting to get awesome deadening with just one layer, so im prepared to layer up.
