I'm actually debating on buying some sound deadener soon. i was looking at at 60mil or murdermat 87 mill both the same price

i like BXT II. Raammaudio makes a good product. It works.

CCF is best used to squelch rattles by being placed between panels and metal. you can see my efforts with these products here:

I was seeing you sealed the holes with metal is metal or plexi easier to work with and does sealing those holes make a huge difference.

oh yea. for speaker locations, sealing holes is what allows you to hear the midbass being produced. the holes allow cancellation of the rear wave with the front.

you want to the hole covering to be rigid, otherwise it will act like a drum head and resonate.

I was thinking about using flashing with the mat on top and then the ccf on top of that. I figure it would be ready to work with and fasten with self taps

sure. that should work. but don't use flimsy flashing.
