i think this is the worst thing about audio

Everyone has a diffrant opinon about what is "right"

I love low bass that is loud and plenty of mid, but a laid back tweet

did you get the wrong thread, because I dont' see how what you posted has anything to do w/ this thread..

This thread goes to show that going active leave MORE room for errors. Luckily in this case, the OP crossed his tweets too high and not too low. Noobs that aren't ready for it can mess up their drivers easily... but maybe that's a good thing. They can blow speakers and buy more and stimilate the economy.

Yeah, I don't get why you're overlapping frequencies so much...

In ideal conditions, your xover points... the points where the slopes actually cross... should be at -3dB...

Thats one thing I was worried about when I first got everything hooked up. One small error and the tweets could go POP.

At first the crossover on the 9887 had me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif. I initially hooked everything up and began with a very limited knowledge, just basic points and slopes.

.....And who said there isnt any worthwhile information on this site anymore? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Noted.

Biggest n00b misconception is that you must cross exactly at that same point. Underlapping almost always works better. If you leave off at 2k on the mid, don't be afraid to come back up at 3.15k in the tweeter. Never heard an overlap I liked, personally.

And I've been aktiv fer 4 yerz and 1 day. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Hey I was just wondering, if you did something for 10 years, does it mean you've been doing it right?
