Sony Xplod Vs. Dual Which Is Better

Sony does have a few nice HeadUnits. I just sold a Sony Mobile ES HU and changer. They were pretty nice. The changer NEVER skipped.
Duel just SUX! All around.
Sony Mobile ES is not even in the same class as the current sony lineup. The Mobile ES line was some of the best stuff around.

I installed sony on a daily basis... subs, amps, head units, speakers.... they all left something to be desired.
i dont doubt it. i dont doubt any audio company. like someone said, "target audience". just like Fi, RE, AQ, etc, are targeted to a certain audience. which is why i mentioned the crx doing 150's with 4 12" xplods. people hate on sony and pyle, and alot of other companies, but i gurantee more than half of the people on here started with a low end company and were pleased until they came here and/or someone showed them something better. i know i was pleased with my first stereo, consisting of one 12" Pyle blue flame, or blue wave, whatever it was. prefab sealed in a trunk. it was mine, and i loved it.

SQ and SPL?
yeah. their speakers had harsh highs and 0 bass. like none period. their subs had 0 lows (prolly because they have about .3" of excursion), although they did get kinda loud around 45hz. but they were very peaky. their head units were fine for factory replacements, but for anything else... meh (personal experience... when I ran a whole system on a sony deck in my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif) their amps are a pain in the *** to adjust because of that friggin beauty panel, and get hot quick.

sony = all show, no go.

You know that many many many SPL subs have low excursion. I expected more of that from you.

lmao my friend had 2 12" Sony P5's on a Sony "1200w" amp, and he wanted me to build him a box for 'em. He had em in a sealed box before, and I made a 4 @ 35 box for 'em. In the meantime, though, I held onto his subs for the build, and gave him a box I had sittin around with 2 Kicker Comp 10's in 3 @ 34. He hooked em up to his Sony amp, and he was like "Holy Crap!" Turns out that the Kicker Comp 10's were louder than his P5's, even when they were in a ported box.

Sony 12's

Yes, I know. My HD3 prolly moves 3/4" p2p at most... difference is that it moves a shit ton of air. The Sony just won't do lows. I have several friends with them, and below 35hz or so, they sound like a fat guy farting on a folding chair.

I like my 2 12" Duals in teh bandpass box (best buy had it for sale)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

They make nice home theater bassage

I am just saying...don't underestimate Sony products....There was a guy at USACi world finals who ran Sony. He probably didn't win, but he atleast won some to be invited.

I'm very familiar with the crap sony calls car audio actually. Used to have two 10" sonys for almost a year and a half. Glad to have my SSD now.
