Sony vs. Interfire

Okay, at the moment I have two 12in Sony Xplode p5s. I was told today from a guy who works at the local audio shop that I could sell them (plus the crappy box they were in) for two 10in Interfires. I was curious about if that was a smart move or not. I need advice and suggestions about what to do. The guy also told me that those two 10s would hit harder.

Im building a downfire box anyways so the crappy box is either going to someone else who's new in audio or it will be a source of keeping warm this winter. I dont want to be dupped into a sale.

I just wanted to know if two 10in interfires were better than two 12in sony xplods. Im building my box next week in shop class so I need to know to order the right amount of wood. So yes, if I could get suggestions, please post!

Do you know what model number interfire subs?

Well man i know they make good amps and the specs and all on those subs look good to me id say go for it. Im sure it will be a step up from sony for sure.

No not if you build your box for your subs correctly and install it all right you should get better output than your sony subs.

Unless you designed your own box you should get a box designed by someone on this forum like you want and then you can build it. You want be dissapointed.

Its going to be along those lines. Measurements are already made.

So go with the Interfires? I was thinking about it since the p5s were only fillers atm.

just keep ur sonys i had one p5 ten ported and ran it at 600 watts rms

for over 4 months and it sounded ok and was fairly loud most people dont

have a fxcking clue what there knocking when there knocking something yeah

sony is not that great but there p5 subs are ok if u ask me
