sony subs?

My roommate wanted to get a system and he went against my advice and bought some sony xplodes. He using my old rf p1000.1 amp. Ge want me to build him a box and I told him its a waste of time and they rnt gonna hit hard no matter what.

My question, has anyone ever seen/ heard a goos sony sub setup? If yes I want to know and if not let's hear some reviews of sony subs I can show my roomie he shoulda listened.

amps from sony... older ones are good. I have never seen a decent sony sub besides the shallow mount for space purposes.

There has been some really cool, Sony demo cars....some that where pretty loud and some that souded really good.....

its 90% install 10% equipment

You can take $hitty gear and make it sound good, you can also take Great gear and make it sound like A$$....

i built a decent box for them last night and they still sounded shitty. i showed him this post and he was like "maybe i shouldnt have gotten them" and i told him he was an idiot and charged him normal price for the box. what a dumbass

First take a spelling class. Than the fact is that sony is not a normal sub like a rf or a alpine. But they do run my friend had one and it ran for about 3 moths before it finally went. The gain and all was set correctly and all but it still blew. My opinion is to take them back and order one or 2 rf punch stage 2's there great bang for the buck. I have installed a few of them and also had one myself.

my camera got jacked so i cant get a pic of it, but it is 4 cuft slot vented tuned to 35hz. i hooked up some p3s my other roommate has just to make sure it wasnt the box and they sound good, so its just sucky sony subs. thats what he gets for being jewy and buying subs from wally world

i had two xplode tornado cone ones, they were nice in a ported box @ 38hz

they arent that bad. just dont put more thank 700rms to both subs

ya my friend had a pair in his truck and they sucked.
