Sony P5 series.......ur opinion????

i had been told not to get sony subs but i ended up gettin some cause i was not willin to lay down the money for some more expensive ones. I got two 10's and they sound great . they hit lower than most 10's i've heard and that really suprised me. They hit lower than rockford fosgate puch 10's even though the rockfords hit sharper. Tell me ur opinion on the new sony p5 series subs.......

umm if ur saying they hit harder the other subs u have heard then i wanna know what other subs u have heard

Yes they are, Pioneer's new line of subs are great IMO. Ive had experience with the TSW125DVC's and all I have to say is give them about 450-500 watts in a good ported box and you would love'em compared to those Sony's p5 pos's. You can get them on etronics for 59 something a peice and around 141 shipped and they are great for the money.

I think the P5s are great. I have 2 of the 12s in a sealed box and they thump hard with only bout 300watts goin in each. But when i get my amp kit I can load up my 2ch 2400 watter and test em some more.

There OKAY, just need around 2.5 cubes each ported....there not that bad actualy....just need to make a good box for em.

I've just really never heard anyone tell me anything from sony was good car audio....the only thing from sony i have heard myself is just the regular old school red sony xplods ( awesome eh? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) but from what i have been told i find it hard to believe they make good sony subs

Anyone who thinks the P5 is a good sub clearly hasn't heard a sub that really is good. The P5 will make sound that can be loud. That's about all I can say.

The sony P5 is/was good enough for ditto985. That's all I have to say.

I have heard them myself, and they don't sound good by any means, but i think many people are biased just because someone said they **** without ever really hearing them. I feel that everything made by sony has degraded in quality over the years. Their computers ****, HT receivers even the ES series, i have one and it has fried 3 times for no aparant reason, Car Audio is bad, home audio speakers are pretty bad, digital cameras really **** for the money, they are now surviving off of their name and uneducated consumers. Their TV's are still quality though, so atlesat something positive about them.

you are OBVIOUSLY a very uneducated car audio kid. BECAUSE....if u knew ANYTHING about caraudio...you would know that Sony makes low quality caraudio. Their older Mobile_ES lines were much better...the P5's ARE not good. They are below average...and just about EVERYTHING else that i've heard is better than them. SO, obviously...you have never really heard a "great" sub...b/c anything well respected around these forums would blow those p5's out of the water. btw, how much DID u pay for ur equipment...subs/amp/box? Also, what is ur current amp...and what is this "2400" watter...lol? from the sounds of it...it's prolly a PYLE!!! or PYRAMID!!! or BOSS...or some other amp that puts out NO WHERE near that amount of wattage. Anyways, that's the honest to god truth about sony caraudio now-a-days...much better out there for the money...and MANY single sub setups that will perform better! peace

I've run my sony ES deck for a good 8 years now. The dsp also mobile ES. The CD changer also ES. My home audio CD(555ES) is also sony, my ps2 is sony, all my walkman of old was sony, all my tv was sony (got a new one coming in today too), all handycam was sony.

Getting a sony c90 mobile ES to replace the old unit. I believe in them.

Oh, but no speakers from sony.

Alright well i'll ease up this time. My ES Receiver was awesome (and expensive as hell, thank god it has a 5 year warranty) until it quit decoding DTS and Dolby Digital twice in the last 2 months. Their video cameras are very good, but their digital cameras **** for the price, and yeah you are right, haha sony does make probably the best portalbe cd players and walkmans, though once again pretty bad mp3 players.
