Sony head unit installation question

The harness we're talking about is the plastic plug that goes into the back of the unit, NOT the one that goes into the car.

It all depends, really, I had an old JVC harness that fit an older Sony, but I swapped them anyways to make sure that the wires were not different.

It is really something you can do yourself. If you have a sony HU already and they do match, it's just a matter of plugging/unplugging the harness. BB or CC will charge you like 40ish for something really simple. I'd take it to a shop as a last resort.

Hi guys,

I just received the new receiver sony cdx-gt620u and I just have some questions hope someone can help me out. I only have a Kenwood amp.

What are that 2 cables at the upper left for? One with a label that said 'Sub out mono' and the other other doesn't have a label but it connects to a cable in the car said 'Antennaworks', as seen in here:

What should I do with these 2 cables? Do I need to screw it to my new unit like what they (Circuitcity) did to my old unit?

Here is a pic of all the cables I have

My other question is 8 of the wires were cut as shown in the pic, do I need to worry about it when I plug this to my new unit?

Thank you very much for your help.

I noticed at the bottom of the new receiver there is a map:

It said ANT at the bottom left. So should I just plug in the antenna cable from the car directly to this hole without using the adapter from the old unit?

Thanks!

in the old unit, I had cables plug in to the BUS AUDIO IN holes. But in the new unit, I don't have these 2 holes. Instead I have the SUB OUT (MONO) holes....so where should I plug that 2 cables to?

Thanks. You said I need a antenna adapter, but since there is a ANT hole in my new unit, shouldn't I plug that into that ANT hole?
