Sony CD Changer not working, need help or ideas...

Hello everyone. First post on these forums.

I have a Sony CD Changer that is controlled from my Sony receiver (Control Cable/RCA cables).

I just installed it into my Grand Cherokee today (it has worked in previous vehicles I have owned) and the changer takes the magazine, shows power, and you can hear the disc spinning slightly.

The receiver displays the disc selection, and works just as it always had.

The problem is, I have no sound. The radio works fine, but the CD changer gives me nothing at all. I thought it was possibly a bad RCA cable (or I had flipped the connectors the wrong way) yet when I tried a new one, same thing.

Any ideas on this? I'd really like to use this changer, being as the receiver doesn't take CD's. Changer problem? RCA problem? It's an older unit, but it's always worked up until now. Maybe a loose connection inside the changer?

I bet the head unit is a cassette player, and you never play cassettes.

I further bet that if you do play a cassette, you won't get any sound from that either.

Get behind the head unit and disconnect whatever the dark blue wire from the head unit is attached to. Reconnect it to the blue/white wire. This should solve your problem.

The wiring worked out just as you had said. Thanks a ton!

As for the system as a whole, my right rear speaker is getting a lot of buzz/humming. It's either the factory crap amp or the wiring. Either way, I'm not looking forward to messing around with it.
