Sony cd changer model # cdx-51

Hay !

I got sony 10 disk cd changer model # cdx -51. i am having couple of problems with it.just wondering if someone could give give some suggestions.

1) it doesn't read cd/rewritable disks, what can i do to make it happen

2) sometimes it doesn't pick up the cd

3) sometimes sound is un clear

4) If i want to replace it ,it has to be the same model or can i just hook up other models.

please help me with that, i will appreciate someone's concern...
