sony amp?

im really a noob at amps, and im not sure how all the different ohm ratings and watts differ, etc. but would this amp ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7668721&type=product&id=1134701343037 )be able to put 500+ watts to my sub (the sub's RMS rating) and enough power for some 5.25 or 6.5 inch door speakers? if so, is that amp overkill? any suggestsions? 200 dollar limit for price
Will it work? No doubt. Will you see a REAL 500W RMS? Doubtful. What subs do you have? and what speakers do you have in the doors?

dude its a 2 channel amp so it will either power the sub or the speakers but not both, look into a 4x100rms amp to power both.

i have a junky megasound sub that i got real cheap, but i plan on upgrading to a nice one once i save up a bit of money. its a 15" 500 watt RMS like i said.

i have the stock 4" door speakers but i will be upgrading to some 5.25 inch or 6.5 inch ones if i can squeeze them in (doubt it)

that's the one. as far as i can tell.

and im not putting the money towards the sub now, because a nice sub now, with no amp is even more useless than a crappy sub with an amp.

i need an amp even if i upgrade subs/speakers in the future (but i dont want to upgrade amps later, so i want a decent one now)

i still think its a waste of money

i might be wrong but i dont picture that sub handling 500 real watts...

and even if when you upgrade you're prolly gonna end up wanting more than 500 anyway...

if you want something that works and only feel like spending $200 i recommend..(and im sure someone knows a better combo)

or

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6554_Hifonics+TXi+6406.html

bridge the one channel for the sub for now

then when you decide you want a better sub - sell the memphis make some of your money back

buy a new sub/amp

then take the Txi amp and use it for your front speakers when you get them which will be more than enough power (the 6406 might be too much unless you get quality front speakers) which you're probaly (not always) gonna need anyway

or buy 2 Pr's and bridge both to the 6406 and call it a day - you wont be breaking any records but they'll be louder than you think... and not be that much over what you wanna spend

i still recommend even more you spend you're money on better equipment to begin with.. tho

use that $200ish and

buy like an FI Q or SSD

Type-r if you want cheap and loud

or many others

and strap on a bigger amp...
