Sony 2006

I heard that Sony is planning a big turnaround in 2006 with their new Black Cone subwoofers as opposed to the red cones from last year. So I went to a local shop that is a Sony dealer and talked to the store manager/owner guy.

I thought, of course he is going to support and try to sell his products. He told me that the new 2006 equipment had a lot of improvements and that Sony was definitely destroy its bad repuatation and gain a ton of respect this year with its new lineup. He also pointed out that in order to get its best performance, both the amp and subs needed to be 2006 equipment. I was a little skeptical at first, so i asked him if I could listen to a setup.

I listened to two 2006 Black Cone 12"s hooked to a new 1200 watt Sony amp. I think the model number for the amp was something like 2002GTR, year model 2006. And to be honest, I have to say it was probably one of the hardest hitting, loudest setups I've ever heard. It was pretty frickin ridiculous.

So what do you guys think? Have any of yall heard any of Sony's 2006 lineup? Personally I'm starting to believe what the guy said.

As far as I know sony rolled over their Specialty Series amps from last year...
