Sonic Difference between RL-i and RL-p?

Displacement differences are obvious, as are suggested performance characteristics based on t/s parameters but what about subjective sonic characteristics? Is the RL-p just a sub line with more displacement potential than the RL-i? Or is this woofer designed to sound better as well?

Umm, Rli available in 8" and 10", Rlp available in 12" currently not that you can't find exceptions of course. P>I for SQ.
the RL-i is still an excellent SQ driver. the RL-p can handle a bit more power, and have the potential to get louder. But SQ wise, both are excellent.
