ok, i have a 2005 sable,,, have 0 ga running to the back from the batt, and i have the big 3, but from the alt. to the batt i have it going through the megafuse and today i thought i should do a run strait from the alt. to the batt, so i did and within a couple hours things in my car started turning off like the radio, screen on the dash that reads the gas and stuff and the lights on the dash were coming on and evetually died,,,,, tryed to jump it and it took like 20 mins but finnally started, but the same thing started happening like 10 mins later,,,,its like its not keeping a charge, have a new optima batt. and new high output alt within the last month,,,, so now i dont no what to do, could it be the alt went bad, or mega fuse blow or i dont no,,,,, i can jump it and everything works for a little bit but then car dies, anyone no what could have happened???????

Lose connection at fuse block? blown fuse between alt and batt? alot of things could be wrong before saying the alt is bad if you haven't checked anything out yet.

Also getting rid of the stock wiring, was the stock wiring going straight from alt to batt or through fuse block/computer etc? might lead to a regulator issue.

im not sure where the stock went, looks like it just when to the batt but cant see all the wire,,

With the Big 3 you're supposed to just add to the stock wiring, not take it away.
^^^ This.

As has also been noted, too early to assume you cooked the alt (though possible) until you put the OEM wiring back and/or do some DMM or AC clamp testing of the alt output....
