somethings wrong

could blowing a sub make an amp go into protection.....because i decided tonight to take everything out of my trunk until i get it all working right but b4 i did i decided to plug it all together 1 more time and when i did the cords that go into the back of the sub box sparked badly so i took them out and my amp powered back on so i turned my car off and plugged the subs back in and it went back into protection, unplugged them and it went out of protection

seems to me that one of your voice coils could be bad on the sub, the impedance or the ohm load could be too low than the amp is rated which is causing the amp to go into protect, find a multimeter or volt ohm meter and check the resistance(ohm) and find out what your amps rating is, then post back here

amp is 1 ohm stable and im pretty sure it can go below that and my sub is only running at 2 ohm so i dont think the ohm load has anything to do with it
