on the way home from the mall today while i was listening to my music it just cut out and then it starts to just make a noise every few seconds and when it does it causes the lights to dim badly,i checked what it was doing when i got home and the sub is just flexing once and waits a few seconds and flexes again,even without the h/u on,it didnt really smell bad so i dont think its blown

altho its apparent no1 cares,i figured out that it went into protect and every few seconds it will come out of it for just a split second and go right back into it,i need to figure out how to keep it out of protect

my amps gain level is only at about half and bass boost is off so i dont really think i pushed my amp to much to smoke something,and i dont really know what to look for on the inside of an amp to see if anything is wrong

could be grounding out somewhere, maybe your power wire is cut somewhere and rubbing metal. make sure you used a grommet through the firewall and didnt run it anywhere where the wire could get pinched in between anything, and then make sure you have a clean ground.

my battery is under my backseat so the wires dont even have to go thru a fire wall and ive been using this same setup for 4 months now without moving anything around,i dont see why it would all of a sudden show up now that the ground wire is bad

burnt wires, poor grounds, mids might be going bad, or speakers grounding somewhere.

unplug your speakers and see if your amp still goes into protect.

you didnt say that in the beginning, so i wasnt sure how everything was. well i had a problem with my amps going into protect mode and thought they werent putting out any power, and come to find out it was my rca outputs on the back of my HU. My outputs were going bad, old HU, and my rca cables werent the greatest. im just throwing out options to check for right now.

sounds like an amp problem. or pre-amp.

Sounds like something in the amp. Sent mine to CIA engineering, $106 dollars later it was broken mosfets inside the amp.

do u guys no what to look for inside an amp to see if anything is wrong,i might be able to get a pic of the inside of my amp tomorrow after school if any1 knows what to look for in the inside of an amp
