it actually was not the ground. today i played it and it still goes in and out. i noticed that when i am parked, it doesnt cut in and out at all. i was able to get through a 4 minute song and it worked perfectly. as soon as i put my car in drive, it starts to cut in and out. this obviously has something to do with it.

****, my system does that too. I wonder if it's because something in the electrical(battery/alt) might go out soon

Loose power or ground wire connection. Either at the amp or the crimps. Check crimps, retighten amp connections, make sure your cables are secured and can't move around or vibrate. They should be screwed/zip tied down as they leave the amp or crimps and along the way.

dragnix...i brought my car back to best buy and they actually found the problem and fixed in a matter of 10 minutes. it had nothing to do with the ground wiring. the problem was that the amp was draining too much power from my car battery. so what they did was turn down the amp settings just a tiny bit to where i couldnt even notice a difference and it works perfect now. he said that if i were to turn the amp settings up again, i could buy a capacitor which is about $100 at best buy but the guy told me that i could find one that is twice as good for that price online if u were going to look into that. im just gonna stick with what i have now. before buying anything though i would see what happens if you mess with ur amp settings. i would just turn it down a tiny bit then play and keep doing that until the problem is fixed. if that doesnt work, id bring it to a car audio place. dont go to best buy...i got lucky and actually got a tech that actually knew what he was doing.

Do not buy a capacitor!

If he told you to buy one HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT HES DOING....

Get a new battery under the hood, like an optima

can some1 please explain why a capacitor would be a waste of money?

also, how much would a new battery under the hood cost????cus a good capacitor is only $75-100
