Something wrong with pored boxes in a trunk??

Basically his argument was that the porting is defeated because the box is sealed away from the rest of the cabin. So sealed boxes act as bandpass and there is no point in ported boxes in a trunk. He says it affects SQ, but the guy we were talking about is using Audiobahn lol so I think the SQ can be thrown out the window. Also isn't the output of notes above the port tuning much louder with a ported box that is built correctly than a sealed one? So it would be louder whether is was in your trunk or not. Since not ALL system are designed for purely SQ.

what kind of f.ucking forum is that
one of those people even builds particleboard boxes
True most of them are idiots when it comes to car audio but it isnt a car audio forum either. I just want to know if I should say something back to the guy or if he has a valid point. The info he posted from JL's website didn't really explain any part of his argument only how a ported box works which I already know.

I think he meant why was he porting it directly into the cabin... that's not always the best thing to do.
I don't think thats what he meant at all because he went on to say that ported should only be used when it CAN fire directly into the cabin.
