something wrong. argh!

ok. ive checked multiple times on my rcas, ground, etc. everything is good. the bass output is very low.. even when i turn all my gains up, and my bass on my HU (just to test of course) but even then, itll be loud.. then lose power again. i reset my gains to its right place, and the bass, and all of a sudden the bass came back, then went low again. do u have ANY idea why its doing this. its a DVC sub wired in paralell, running 2ohms off of a mono amp. (Maw12 and profile audio 400MSX) i might have wired paralell wrong by accident but i highly doubt it.. i rechecked it before i mounted the sub. when i first installed and mounted it and tested it, it was great. i turned off the car, got back in to go to the store, and the bass was gone. even when i turn the bass up it barely hit, then it would come back again, then die again. argh

bump. i need to fix this. ive checked all wiring. nothings loose. only thing i can think of is im using 8ga wire running from the amp to sub box. then 12ga on the inside wiring the sub. i dont have an alan wrench to get the 8ga wire out and replace it

check ur ground. Secured on bare metal less than 18 inches?

yes bare metal. ground isnt a problem. and its probly 8" long.

rewire the sub and tighten the wires in the box

I was having the same problem with my Planet Audio VX1400D and it ended up being the outputs. Had to send it back to them to get it fixed.

this has happened to be on another amp as well tho. happened after a friend showed me how to wire subs, and he wired it in series for me. thats when it started dimming the power. now i have it in paralell on a different amp. series, and 8ohms, on this amp is no good. no power at all. i need it in P at 2ohms. i just re wired the sub, changed it out with new wire. when i get a chance to turn it up ill let u know.

darn man, you've had some problems going on. that sucks. i hope you get it all worked out. if you need amp recomendations try a refurb kicker 400.1 on ebay. they are going for like $100, and will do more than the 400 rms it says. only if your amp is shot though.

i just got this amp. i dont see how it could be bad? its a refurb also. it hits hard as hell when it works... when i go up and downhill thats when it hits hard, then when i drive straight the bass output lowers incredibly. sometimes the bass will randomly kick in just driving forward, but mostly when i go up and downhill. its gotta be something loose but i dont know what everything is in place
