explain. i don't have the money for an aftermarket and dash kit. so what can i do to solve, reduce the hu clipping? and y is the loc hurting? a lot of ppl use them don't they?

its a audio pipe loc. I'm not sure which model i was gonna use a pac. but it was only 2 channel so i ran to the local audio shop to get a 4 channel.

source unit? as in the hu? if i ever do it won't be for a while. (year +) and do you have any recommendations on a good 4 channel loc?

Yea, I was meaning the head unit.

There are a few good ones out there. RF has the 3sixty units and Audio Control always has great products.

They product a much cleaner signal. Most have a few extra features over a basic LOC as well. Anything from full out adjustable EQs to line drivers and such. Just have to look around and read reviews.

I never said anything about the obsidian having a 3" coil

Hispls said a 3" coil could handle 1200 w rms before having problems, and I was simply saying I was running 1500 to a 3" coil with no problems

actually edit, i dont even know why i put the 1500 rms part...guess i read his post wrong.

Ah, well then I misunderstood your post. You also misunderstood hispls's post.

How do I adjust these? Like I get its like a screw or knob, but how do I know if I need more or less of something?

my 2.5'' coil sub has taken 1700rms no problem for about a month or so. Just depends.

3" 4 layer aluminum running on my 2200. Sub will get hot after a while but I can play it for about 5 minutes of heavy beating before it starts getting hot and smelly. Proper amp settings, box, and cooling can go a long way

15min or longer straight with maybe a 10min cool down time between beatings lol.
