Something seriously wrong with my install/box/amps? pics n vids

maybe 4" away when its shut

there are no pinched wires or anything though, checked that, everythings loose. I double checked my wiring as for out of phase when installed it 10 times so I doub tits that, especially if its still playing as loud as it is. I just think it should be much louder, and hit much harder, and figured the subs not moving would cause some concern

Dont your guys subs move ALOT more than that? Esp the audioque line....

ya Im not looking to get 2.5", an inch would make me feel more comforatable,

I'll check the phase wiring tomorrow, this is really killing me. I was hoping this was gonna be a trouble free install for a while.

when you disconnect the other amp your (loosely) halving your woofers and doubling your box size.. Thats assuming you meant 1 sub is moving more when one amp is disconnected.

now if both subs are moving more w/ 1 amp disconnected(if there strapped or something) then something is wired wrong.

those looked pretty stiff/new....

Get a DMM, take the sub wires out of the amp, test them to make sure they are both wired to the correct impedence. I'd say that'd be the first step, if that doesnt work, make sure you have the amps linked correctly.....wait a minute.......you have 1 amp running each sub, and you disconnect 1 amp and THEY get louder....1 sub should shut off completely shouldnt it

amps are strappable right?

Since it's a common chamber box, both subs use the same chamber. If there is a wiring problem in the setup, and one sub was fighting the other, it would appear that they are hitting harder when only one sub is hooked up and the other would be acting like a passive radiator. I'm thinking it's because they are new or, there is a woofer out of phase.

I'll check phase tomorrow, Im almost positive they are correct though as I marked the wiring and everything.

The subs are not new, there over a month old now Id guess

Anymore tips?

How exactly would I test for what ohm reading the woofer are getting?

I guess if I pull them out of the box I can check that, I think my voltmeter has a dmm function, it has the little ohm sign on one of the options anyways. So I just probe the positive and the negative where all the wires join up before the run to the amp? and the reading the ohm meter gives out is what my amp is seeing?

sounds easy enough, its pulling the subs out and removing the beauty panels that sucks!

Ya that might be, Im going to be building a better box this weekend anyways, I was never happy with how much noise this box made and dont like the placement of my ports or my amps and the wiring it took to get them there.

Im building a basic BIG slot port box this weekend, about 11cubes. And triple checking wiring and amp settings before I get it going and it better WANG!

Thats how much I hate troubleshooting....
