Somebody PLEASE help me!

2 dual voice coil 4 ohm subs would put you at a 1 ohm final load. You need a 1 ohm stable amp if I understand Ohm's law.

You could run one and the amp would see a 2 ohm load.

Somebody here that is smarter than me about wiring can probably tell you some way to wire them to present the amp with a 2 ohm load though, so don't give up yet.

You can run those subs by wiring the voice coils in series and the subs in parallel with each other. Your amp would see a 4 ohm load if you wire them that way. So while you will not be getting the most power out of your amp, it will safely run the subs with that configuration.

You can wire everything in parallel and create a 1 ohm load. To drive that, you would need a different amp which is 1 ohm stable.

Actually I'm thinking about it and you could wire series/parallel and be at 4 ohms. Voice coils in series, speakers in parallel.

Somebody please tell me if I'm right so the guy doesn't blow something up.

parallel/parallel would put you at one ohm, and give the subs more power though.

You beat me to it, thanks. I had to think on it for a minute.

I have 2 Audiobahn aw1206t sub woofers. They're dual 4ohm, but the amp I was looking at a Kicker 08zx1500.1 says it can run a 2ohms. Somebody please tell me if this will work or a a different amplifier for them. Thanks
Connect the wires to a wall socket and leave them that way for 15 seconds. LOL

I'm new to car audio. My brother gave me the subs so they're free. I'm almost 16 so i'll be driving in a couple weeks. I know how to wire a amp, but I don't know how to wire the subs in parallel.

wire them like this bro, dont wire it to a 1 ohm I imagine you have no HO alternator, or big batteries at all if you run one ohm eventually those subs are gonna die on you.

Since you are new to it, you might want to also review the Forum: Wiring, Electrical and Installation Help sticky. There looks to be a lot of good information there and a section on subwoofer wiring.

Alright I will look in a minute. I'm wiring them now based on the diagram The HACKER posted.

If you feel like blowing up one later, take ONE sub wire the postives and negatives together, and then to the amp. Will sound good for a few seconds and then blow up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

One question the diagram shows a sub with only 2 positive terminals and 2 negative, but mine has 2 positive and 2 negative on both sides?

This my good fellow, Makes no ****ing sense whatsoever.
