Solution needed please!!!

I recently received a new Peugeot 307, the car is great but the audio sucks!! the high tones are ok, but the low tones are extremely bad. There isn't a line out on the radio (a clarion radio customised for Peugeot) and I don't want to replace my radio since it's integrated with other stuff in the car. But here's what I wanted to do:

I want to put a crossover between the speakers and the radio to connect the car speakers (2 rear and 2 front) with the high outputs of the crossover(s). Next I want to purchase a subwoofer with a build in amplifier and connect this one with the low outputs of the crossover.

Can someone please tell me if this will work or does anyone have a better option??

umm... there are better options. If you get a powered subwoofer, they usually have inputs that allow connecting directly to the existing speaker wiring (most people use the rears) without any additional gizmos. Look for "high level" or "speaker level" input capability on whatever you buy.

Also consider upgrading your front speakers... you could gain considerable midbass from something better than stock. The next step is to amplify the fronts, also using an amp with "high level" inputs if you still don't want to change the Clarion.
