Solution for connecting a 4ch amp and mono amp to 4 pre out deck

like the title says i have a HU with only 4 pre outs 2 front and 2 rear/sub. Currently i have the fronts connected to the deck and the sub connected to the deck and then using the output of the 4ch amp i have it going into the rears input.

I was just wondering if there is a better way of doing this?

What I get out of this is that you have the rca's linked like a circuit??? headunit output to amp input then amp output to headunit input?

Could always buy an EQ with F/R/Sub outputs. Diagram of how it is wired now would help out alot.

Bring all 4 from the head unit to the 4ch amp. Then go from the output of the 4ch to the sub amp. This will retain all fade/balance with the 4 speakers, and have no ill effects at all.

The way its wired now you lose fade front>rear by only having the front go to the 4ch.

Except he'll lose the ability to control the subwoofer level. I think the way he has it now is his best option...

i had it hooked up that other way before... 4ch output to the other amp and because the sub wasn't getting a pure sub input the sub was being forced to play some of the treble... like the words and stuff thus distorting the actual sound of the sub.

So i guess the way i have it now is the best way?

is there any other hardware that could maybe give me other options? other than buying a whole new HU?

Whats wrong with the way it's hooked up now? What features are you trying to gain? IMO your trying to fix a non-existent problem. If you want to fade the front/rear just adjust the gains on the amp.

well yea i just wanted that individual front and rear control from the deck. It is more of a nice to have for me that i would like to get but if it's not possible then i'm not going to sweat it. Just wanted to see if there was a simple solution.

If its a mono amp it should have a low pass filter, and you should have all the controls you need on the amp itself.
