solid front stage- decent midbass

currently, i'm in a car audio school. i decided to do this to learn how to do kick-panels and fabrication with fiberglass. i have a decent amout of experience with car audio but i never got paid doing it. hopefully, i will be able to work and get paid doing something i love to do. the problem is i dont agree with the school or most shops on what they belive to be sq systems. we have an instructor that is running 6 sound stream components in a 2006 gto. the car sounds decent but not spectacular. first, i can't afford all that. i wanna build a system that has a very solid front stage with a good amount of midbass. i listen to 90% metal. i like to play my music at very loud volumes. i was gonna run image dynamic idq 8"s(doors) and neo comp id horns. unfortunently, i got rid of the idq8"s. i would like any type of advice on building a good system that can handle the abuse of puke death metal. slayer rules //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

buget: front stage(amps,speakers)-$2000

rear stage(amps,subs,materials)-$2000

Just cause he crams a buncha speakers in his car doesnt make it a SQ system. If your gonna go with horns make sure u have at least 15-band EQ for left and right channel. 30+ bands will be best. Horns require ALOT of tunning and tweeking to get it to sound right. I say if u really have that much money just do a soild front stage. Screw the back.

Ya I just saw rear stage. When I think rear stage i think of rear stage. Not Sub stage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif.

For a great front stage, look into Hypnotic's Zen line. I own the HV5's from the Vertigo line, and I am VERY amazed with these speakers. They have great mid bass, but the tweets are harsh, they should have went with a softer dome (Like those on the Zen line). They don't do online sales, it's strictly dealer only, and I couldn't get the dealer locater on the website to load. I was lucky, I found my set of the Vertigo series on eBay, and got them for $26 shipped (A LOT less than what DEALERS get them for.) Also, did I mention, the Zen line has won several SQ competitions? They're made by DB Drive.
