Im personally sick and tired of it, but it seems Ive been getting some flack over at the fiberglass boards for trying to speak the truth about deadening products.

Seems Fatmat is the end all be all......

Wheres FoxPro and audioholic when you need them?

haha, what are you doing on Fiberglass board....researching how to redo ur attic?

But a link would help...ill go in there and just say asssss from time to time
It would cool if you were being sarcastic.

not everything in car audio is made from MDF.

People have proven deader has an effect.

How much I dont know, but foam or fiber mat have to posses better dampning qualities otherwise it wouldnt be used as the primary insulation in houses.

And the dampening of a house and a car would obviously be the same since SPL and making sure baby doesnt wake daddy are the same //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Not exactly sure what you expect me to say. Asphalt mat has been proven highly inferior to butyl mats. If your friends on that forum dont believe you, ask them why the industry in general is shifting completely away from asphalt, to butyl rubber. I guess the guys on the fiberglass forum know something that the entire deadening industry is, as of yet, still unaware. Maybe they can share their revelation with the rest of the class. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Is ther some sort of mat that I can buy that is less permanent than regular deadner that would work the same as far as SOUND dampning?

As in, you want to deaden a lease vehicle, and then be able to remove it easily? Nope, not really. Generally speaking, the better it sticks, the more effective the mat will be. So the manufacturers work on making a permanent bond, not a temporary one.
