so who is "happy/satisfied" with thier system???

My truck I'm done with. I've wasted enough money on that one.

The civic.. its a project car. I'll be testing all sorts of goodies in it. Tommorow, two RE8's go in (sealed at 1.7 cubes each). They'll each see 300watts... well, actually alot less because the gain on the 600D will have to be way down (wired for 1ohm).

The aura tweets should be here soon so we'll see how those sound and I think there is an eclipse deck instore for the car as well.

joncon... how come you dont get a HU for the civic??? even in my accord

the HU was garbage now that i realize what a good HU is supposed to

sound like...

clarity improved 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 %

over using a LOC and tapping the rears for the sub...

Well, seriously...after about 3 months with NO SOUND (not just no-bass...no sound) I've finally gotten done with my re-install. The 18XXX JUST got in last night...and WOW it is RE-********-DICULOUS!

WOOT...

Coming this spring will be an Active DIY component set. Adire Audio Extremis mids, 1" Vifa neodymium silk tweeters, zapco reference series amplifier, and I'm taking suggestion on a proper xover for this active setup. They will be fiberglassed into the door panels.

Whew...

I wish I had the money, but right now a new set of 19-inch wheels are calling my name.

But if I had the $$$ right now, I would love the make a custom 3-way using Adire Audio Extremis' in my doors. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

im pretty happy with what i have, but i know there's better out there, and i am still lookin at newer parts, better set ups, and things like that. I love my system, but i still want better, and im waiting for my parts to break in better, i installed them like 2 months ago... my tweets are still harsh, and i use co-axials, im looking into comps for front stage

thanx to this forum, i realize i have a looooong way to go. if i was completely clueless (3 weeks ago, now i'm just clueless) i would think my system is the shit. now i realize that good gear doesnt mean good sound. i still have a lot of tweaking i need to do to improve it. however, i do see this hobby/passion can easily become an endlesss money pit.

I'm very happy with my setup for right now.

One of these days, I'm going to satisfy my need for inpracticability and get two or three 18's in a low tuned ported box, but until then I can live with my single 12" and a kW.

Now for my home setups...not satisfied yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Blah. Wussy......I haven't had subs in for 2.5yrs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

However, that streak should end this weekend //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

It'll be wierd to listen to songs again and (*gasp*) actually have some bass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

2.5 years!??! Yanno how the first bass hit of the day is always the most satisfying and then you gradually want more and more? That first bass hit in your car after 2.5 years is gonna make you spooge man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Anyways, I know exactly what the original poster means! After getting my substage and not having the exact kind of bass i want, I always felt like I had a burden of fixing it up.

In the beginning the sub sounded good but just too muddy and not punchy enough. I put it in a smaller box and now its exactly how I want it to sound. Punchy when it needs to be but a low end monster //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I waited for around six months before I got my e12a finally installed...and another six months before I got my fronts finally amplified //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
