I've been dealing with JL ever since I got turned on to them about 10 years ago or so. Most people with serious SPL set ups don't run JL. It's not what they are made for. Can they get loud? Yeah. But then again, 135db's in a daily driver is pretty dam loud to me, but not to others. I hit 144 with two 12W3v2's almost a year and a half ago. Loud is open to interpretation. JL is more SQ and SQL if it's set up that way. Good blend of SQ and loud.
See my sig for my set up and my thread I posted with pics

I love the W6. You want to talk about a driver that hardly needs adjustment going from one music type to the other...never heard a better one personally. And it can get loud. I have all my boost (bass and treble) set at 0 on both the head unit and amps. All my bass adjustment is done via the Sub level control. It hover's between 8-12. That's it. Just 4 clicks between Salsa and Classic rock (8-9) and Rap/bass (11-12). It hits pretty deep and hard on my good quality bass recordings. If I want to get stupid with it and demo it in all it's glory, I could turn the bass boost up a few clicks on the amp and put the sub up to 15. But it's plenty loud how it is for driving around.
Very very accurate driver. It doesn't color or add anything to the bass. Very natural and clean sounding. Plays everything really well, from Hendrix and sublime, to Lil Jon and Bass testors.
My C5's.....out-freakin-standing. They are what the XR's should've been from the start. From the word's of JL spoken to my buddy JC who works where I got my install done
"C5's have the best driver that JL has ever made...better than the ZR's." But he didn't want me spreading that too much because he's got to sell the ZR's so they won't sit on his shelf, LOL. Ooops. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
They are built and designed much like the W6 and W7 (minus the W cone). Outstanding impact and response. All quality Kurt Muller parts and suspension, right down to the tweets.
Love the slash amps. Love knowing I'm getting my rated power no matter the ohms and voltage. And theur thermal efficiency is outstanding. I've taken two road trips with slash amps pounding the system most the way and they never cut off. The only get warm to the touch.
