So what do you use as the remote wire on your Kenwood HU?

Since it seems that there is no designated wire on the wiring harness which plays the role as the remote wire that I can find, what do you use?

I was really hoping that I wouldnt have to use the ignition wire against like my last Kenwood HU.

There are two wires, the external amp control wire and the power amp control wire, neither one of these wires act as remote wires.

I find it hard to believe that there isnt a remote wire. My friend had an Kenwood HU that was like a year old and that had one.

yea theres a dark blue w/ white stripe there some where.....

Yeah, on my new X692, it was a blueish wire with a clear cap on it, and a tag that said "Remote". It's usually separate of everything, pretty independent!

The wire that worked was actually the power amplifier control wire(dark blue and white), no idea what the difference between it and "external amplifier control" wire besides the names, colors, and the fact that the power amplifier control wire actually worked.

External amplifier control is not the same as remote on. EAC is some propietary Kenwood thing. Remote on is always either solid blue (also used for power antenna) or blue with a white stripe.
