Actually, considering the man-hours and cost for manufacturing, the maintenance, and the sheer amout of power extracted from a wind farm, they are grossly inefficient. Here in California we spend a substantial amount of our taxes building these things.... yet they account for less than 5% of energy produced in the state.
A single moderately sized nuclear plant has more potential for energy production than an entire very large wind farm.... by a large amount. In the production of energy, efficiency is the key. Technology like wind farms are just a 'feel-good' technology. People drive down the interstate, see a wind farm, and feel better about their environmental footprint size.

Im not saying I necessarily believe them, but some theories suggest that the tectonic plates actually float on a sea of oil, and that if we drill deep enough, we could strike oil anywhere.

I agree with you 100% I have read those theories as well. I was referring to the cheap oil. If we had the technology to even remotely drill to the depths you speak of it would cost billions to do so...for 1 experimental well. I have heard of one or two experimental wells reaching depths of 30,000 to 40,000ft...maybe 6 -8 miles deep at a cost in excess of a hundred million bucks. Not to mention a year's worth of drilling on 1 well.

And yes, we are drilling for oil, we have an office in Bakersfield that tests primarily oil wells....in Ca. I would honestly bet the percentage of oil wells being drilled in the US at this moment is less than 8%. Our well testing operations range from Ca. to Co., Wy. Ok., Tx., Ar., Ms., Pa., N.M., Al., La., La. Gulf wtrs and Tx Gulf wtrs. Syria, Columbia and Quatar.

I hate to sound like I slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but my point is this...if ya think things are bad now, wait til a barrel of oil hits 4 - 500 bucks a Bbl. and it is coming sooner than we realize.

The United States written Constitution is "The Law Of The Land" period. It is a very straight forward document. It states in the 1st Amendment that you have, among other things, the right to freedom of speech and the right to PEACEFULLY petition any grievances we have with our government in place. If the current Government refuses to even acknowledge our right to petition peacefully our grievances with it...what can we possibly do?? The only thing left for an honest American Citizen is this: Deal with Change, or read and follow the 2nd Amendment. The right to form a well regulated Militia and KEEP and BEAR arms to maintain a SERVANT Government. How many of you are willing to shed blood to defend and protect the God given rights and liberties afforded to you as an American Citizen of The United States of America as declared in the Bill Of Rights?

I feel extremely fortunate to know where I come from. The family trees of both my Mother and Fathers' sides documenting arrival to this country date back to the late 1600's and the early 1700's. I cannot deny my gut wrenching sense of family and freedom as I write this. How many of you Americans on here have kids? I look at mine and want to cry sometimes when my gut is trembling because I read or see another of their most needed resources stripped from them....their rights as American Citizens. The rights to Life, Liberty and the Persuit of Happiness are not things that can be bought or sold ..they can only be preserved or given away.

I treat everyone I meet as a friend until they prove otherwise...Black, Red, Yellow , White...it does not matter to me personally. On the flip-side, there are people in this world who in common practice Islam and have publicly declared a Holy War against ALL Americans in the name of said religion. That is pretty simple, folks..when one takes sides and declares 'Holy War"..then that's what it is, whether we Americans like it or not. Our enemy practices extremely non-traditional forms of warfare and we are a very gullible people as a whole. We must watch our backs and not let ourselves continue to subtly get blind-sided by an enemy whose cause is to destroy the United States Of America.

I honestly don't know how you guys can get by with having to spend that kind of money filling up your tanks.

How long does 127 dollars get you? I get about 350 miles every week and a half in most cases. So spending only 100 bucks every 3 weeks, which comes out to 150 a month. I have a hard time just with that, lol!

Wife spends close to 350-400 in a v6 Chevy Lumina LTZ a month. Works 55 minutes away, so almost 2 hours in driving per day. Sucks for both of us, because I help her fill her tank as much as I do my own. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

We are shelling out 550 dollars a month just in filling our tanks! And I only work 5 minutes away and thank god for that!
