so my plans on buying a '61 Lincoln Continental fell through..

i guess low miles, 18'' chrome rims and probably a system? it looked like it had been previously owned by a 'thug'
and those were the two that really stood out to me also

i was also told by my mechanic "those prices are negotiable, you could talk him down 1 or 2 grand on every car out in the lot, but you didn't hear that from me"
not worth more than 2500 in cherry cond.

Buy something that isnt already restored and do it yourself. If you are into that.
And I couldnt imagine payign 22k for that lincoln. Shit.

though that is something i want to to at some point, i don't really have the time or space to do it right now. moved back in with my parents to save money, and when i move out with my girlfriend in a couple months, we're getting an apartment until my credit is good enough to get a mortgage at a decent rate. no way my parents would let me buy a car and just let it sit out in front of the house until i get it going.

in the next couple years though that's something i really want to do.

maybe the guy that bought the lincoln bought it for sentimental value? i don't know.

I mean get something that runs, but maybe the interior and exterior is ****ed up or something. Use it while you fix it.

Uh, why haven't you jumped on the Grand National that Deaf Tones posted for 8500? That is what I would get if I had the dough. Why dont you lend me the money and I will pick that up for you and drive it for the first year and get all the bugs worked out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'd pick up the Cutty. The price is a bit on the high side but if you have cash in hand you can negotiate. With 43K miles it is a waay better deal than the above posted GN. I feel that 120K and turbo can become a huge burden on your wallet once things go wrong. THe Cutlass is a very desired "old school" ride today, hence the higher than usual price.
