SWINE FLU!!!!
went to the dealership today to ask about price and condition of everything besides the interior and body(as that's all i had a chance to look at at night) and he had sold it already. he sold it yesterday. at first i was a little disappointed with myself for not going yesterday or on saturday when I could've, but then when i asked him how much it went for, i realized i wouldn't have been able to afford it anyway. he sold it for 22k. i was in the market for a car around 10k at the most. apparently this car had just been restored, and the guy selling it through this broker was very firm on the price.

so i stopped by the dealer on my way home from work tonight, and tried to look for any other possibilities, as all they sell are older cars, and that's all I want to buy.

All the cars on my list have good/great bodies and good interiors, so here's my list of possibilities...(these images are not of the actual cars in the lot, but just to give you an idea of what they look like if you don't already know)(actually, all the cars with the checkered floor are the actual cars, i found the dealership on ebay lol)

1964 Chrysler Imperial

----61,248 Miles

----$8,000

----413 Cubic Inch 6.8L

Deville or Imperial. Only two cars on that list with any sort of personality and not just giant land yachts.

How can an '83 cutlass cost 8 grand? What's so special about an '83 cutlass?

unless it was a 4door convertible with less than 50k original miles....in immaculate condition.
i'm just relaying what he told me and my mechanic(who doesn't work for him). all i know about it was it was a 4door hardtop, didn't know mileage. but everything i saw inside and out was in incredible shape.

those ******* doors were sexy and i wanted them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif i already signed up at lcoc and everything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i guess low miles, 18'' chrome rims and probably a system? it looked like it had been previously owned by a 'thug'

and those were the two that really stood out to me also

thats WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much for that cutty dude...
i was also told by my mechanic "those prices are negotiable, you could talk him down 1 or 2 grand on every car out in the lot, but you didn't hear that from me"

If anything, that shit should make it less. Not putting you down, but whoever is selling that car has a skewed view of what an '83 GM is worth.

Imperial or Deville. I'd go for the Imperial, as you won't see too many of them at car shows.

yeah i saw that the other night when i was talking with you. i don't think i could bring myself to buy a car on ebay though, which sounds weird considering i know most of these cars i'm looking at through this guy are on ebay, but i guess it's just different when i can stop and look at them on my way to work lol

no i completely understand that it should make it worth less. maybe he figures A. we're 20 minutes outside of detroit, maybe someone who finds it appealing will stroll through, or B. it's a decently 'rich' city, and some snotty kid will see it and ask his mommy and daddy for it?

it definately looks out of place on the lot...maybe it's his kids or something.

just give me your paypal login and i'll take care of it from here.

Good point with the city and such. I live in BF Egypt, and most cars like that are at dealerships on the edge of town, as-is and such.

WHat do you plan on doing with said old car, anyhow?

um driving it? lol. my beetle is definately not a winter car. given it takes 30 minutes to get any sort of heat, and even then, you're never warm, you're just not shivering anymore. convertible doesn't help it any. and everyone i talk to says "why are you going to buy a nice car and drive it through a michigan winter?"

a. i'm a painter, so a little surface rust is no big deal.

b. over last winter, when i drove my beetle every day in the winter due to my 300zx taking a shit on me, i washed my car every night on the way home, and my existing small rust spots didn't get any bigger, and no new rust formed. i would do the same thing with this car. hell i did it with my mazda which wasn't worth a shit.

c. if there's an extended period of time where i wouldn't want to be driving either of my nice cars, i can always borrow my girlfriends car or my moms car for a week or so if need be.
