and all I can say is not only is this one of the nicest looking decks (IMO), but my ALTERNATOR WHINE IS GONE!!! (after a ****ing year of living with it)
I went from a P960-MP (the dual face version of last years popular P860MP) and lo and behold, I have ZERO alternator whine, ZERO noise in my system. I cannot believe that it fixed the problem.
It leads me to wonder though, because the person who bought my P960 has installed it and said it sounds great (no mention of noise). I wonder why??
I am still using the same wire harness from my old old P840 (came out in 2003?) but the pin connection fits and the pin-out looks the same. I always thought that maybe because I used the 840 harness on the 960 model, that it caused problems, but I have read and heard otherwise.
The noise on the old radio was so bad. Even with the ignition in ACC I could "hear" noise. Like when I loaded a CD, I could hear little "beeps" and a scratching noise that sounded like the loading of the CD. I guess it was bad RCA grounds on the head unit afterall?
Again, I don't see why the other guy isn't having problems with the same P960. Oh well, I Guess I can't complain.
All in all, I love the P880PRS even more now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif
