So I'm trying To Quit Smoking

I started dipping @ age 12... continued to 18.. and decided to free myself from the addiction. I am only on day 2 but feel alright. I havent had a drink yet so i dont know how those will affect me, but the thing is, if i dont have a can i dont think i can let the addiction control me enough to go buy more.

I did a lot of reading on the subject and have come to understand that the first 72hrs is the main hump to get over because it should take no longer than 72hrs for the nicotine to clear your system. After that the side effects start to decrease in intensity until about 14days. At that point the nicotine has been out of your system for a while and cravings arent nearly as bad anymore.

Once you get to the 4 month period is when most people have the first day when they actually never have a thought of smoking, dipping, patch or w/e.

For people who have actually experienced this healing process is that all about true?

I went cold turkey like others, I did it for my daughter. Don't bother with the patch b/c you are still being fed nicotine like smoking but in a smaller dose. Drinking alcohol does bring up the urge to smoke though so watch how much you drink.

GOOD LUCK!

Depends on the person, when I went cold turkey I would crave one after eating a decent sized meal or drinking a lot of beer but that decreased overtime.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU AS WELL!

I don't think it's the nicotine that keeps me coming back to newports, but rather the routine I have. There's a certain point in my commute to work that after I pass I light one everyday. And after every meal, beer, and piece of *** I get. And those are the best three times to

for me to smoke. Btw I also smoke Newports ftw/ftl

I tried to quit dipping, but I've always had some things that make me just say fuck it and I never wind up quitting.

mmmmmmmm, looks really good doesn't it......go ahead, just one more, one smoke never killed anybody did it?

I have a question. The material i read was written by some doctor. He said after certain periods it is good to reward yourself for over coming the disease. I am pretty sure he said most people will have a smoke as the reward. Wouldnt that just make you have to "start all over" ?

Those who quit... have you NEVER EVER had a cigg. since you say you quit or were there a few times you would take a puff?

I have actually never smoked a day in my life and I am 32..........but, my parents are....still are hippies and they are having the hardest time, especially my dad as he is around it a lot. Mom says it has been 6 months for her now..........rather that includes joints, I don't know, lol!
