ive never used one before so itll be a learning expierence for me. so i got my first question.

when using screws and rounding the edges after , what would be the easiest way to avoid hitting a screw with the router? countersink them 1/2 of the way up the edge (3/4" mdf)?

any tips?

im sure ill have more as i get started... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i counter sink the screws about half way through, or just use brads, they go in far enough not to catch, till ya figure it out just get a cheapo roundover till ya figure out how not to nick it up....lol...

i just got back from the store. got a 4 pc craftsman router bit set. 1/2 , 3/8 ,1/4 and 1/8 round overs for like $30. im sure if i take my time and pace myself , it wont come out too bad , lol. some day i need to get me a jasper jig and do my circles right in stead of using a jig saw. but it works for now.

i think ill just not use screws this time around since it looks pretty nice out.

all i can say is , i should of got one alot sooner. rounding edges in under 30 seconds is great. and since i **** at making perfect cuts , flush trim = ftw. gonna pick one up tomorrow.

and yes , i did get about 3/4 of the way done , and now the sky is about to take a shit on everything so i had to pack up. i dont like working with 36" bar clamp/lightning rods when its about to pour.

question. anything i should use on the bits to make them last longer? oil or something?

another question. my port is ~1/16 to 1/8 off more than it should be on some parts. any problem?

i already used the 3/8". just wondering if there is anything i can do to extend the bits life. and **** at making cuts so i have a little over hang from the top and bottom. a flush trim should take care of that , right?

ahh i thought you meant the other kind of router //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
